How is licensing handled for an Mi5 Webgate appliance?
Mi5 has a very simple licensing scheme. Just choose the appliance(s) you need to cover your network, choose a support package (Gold or Platinum), and then pick a license to cover your number employees. Subscription licenses include all software and database updates for the core product – add-ons like the SpyWash cleanup agent, URL Filtering Module, Application Control Module or Anti-Virus Module are extra.

How many users are supported on each appliance?
The Mi5 Webgate appliances support the following user counts:
- Webgate 001 - up to 250 users
- Webgate 003 - up to 500 users
- Webgate 005 - up to 1,000 users
- Webgate 007 - up to 5,000 users
- Webgate 009 - up to 30,000 users

How does a customer register an appliance's license?
Each Mi5 Webgate appliance is shipped with a license. It will register that license as soon as it is configured and can reach Mi5's Data Center. Please be sure to set the correct DNS Server IP Address, and configure Proxy settings, if necessary. Communication with Mi5’s Data Center is done via the HTTPS protocol, which uses TCP port 443. Please verify that the appliance can communicate via the Internet using HTTPS. When successful, the appliance will show that the license is active.
