Mi5 Networks Names Tom Orella
Vice President of Sales and Business Development
Emerging Leader in Secure Web Gateway Market Taps Proven Security Industry Veteran to Manage Worldwide Sales and Business Development
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 12, 2007 – Mi5 Networks, the web security gateway company, today announced the appointment of Tom Orella as Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Orella brings more than 20 years of security and enterprise software sales management experience to Mi5 Networks. He has built and managed high performance sales organizations for several successful start-ups and emerging security technology vendors including SenSage, FrontBridge, ForeScout, and Internet Security Systems (ISS). Orella assumes responsibility for worldwide sales including the company’s inside sales, systems engineers, and channel partnerships.

Orella joins Mi5 Networks from SenSage, a leading provider of security information management products. As Vice President of sales he re-built the sales team and doubled the company’s revenues during his tenure. Prior to SenSage, Orella was vice president of sales for FrontBridge, a leader in managed e-mail security that was acquired by Microsoft. At FrontBridge he grew revenues by 300 percent and 500 percent in consecutive years, and built the sales team from 10 to 45 people. At ISS, a vendor of Internet security platforms acquired by IBM, Orella grew revenues from less than $1M to over $40M in his territory over three years and helped position the company for IPO. He has also held executive sales management positions with ForeScout and AskMe Corporation. Orella holds a BSc in Business from San Jose State University.
